First Mini-Meet:
First mini-meet for all youth groups will be on Thursday December 1st from 6-8 PM at the Seton YMCA. All skaters from Seton YMCA and Youth Groups C, D, E & F are invited to the mini-meet. We will have a few fun races, some prizes and snacks. It should be a great time! Registration is required by Nov. 27 on IceReg. Maximum number of registrants is 50 skaters. This is a free event:

This is great opportunity for skaters to participate in their first long-track meet. All practices will be cancelled that weekend and skaters are encouraged to sign-up for the race.

VC Officials:
Congratulations to Marc McGee who has accepted the position of VC Officials. He is the father of a young skater in Group C. He will be a great addition to the Board, having been a national level in-line and speed skater in his heyday, as well as having officiated at many, many Oval competitions over the last 20+ years.

AGM Reminder on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 PM in Room 54 (next to Oval skate shop):
We will be presenting and approving the financial statements for June 30, 2022. In addition, the Board will be available to answer any questions about CSSA. It’s a great opportunity to meet some of the other parents too. A zoom link will be available for those who cannot join in person. Based on the T-shirt size you provided at registration, technical T-shirts will be distributed to all skaters registered in CSSA programs (Youth, Adult, Seton).

The codes DO NOT apply to the 4 day all access pass options, just the SINGLE day tickets. Friday admission for both weekends is free, so there are no tickets for sale on those days.

Just a reminder that the Oval schedules are available online, should you ever want to confirm a CSSA practice. Short-track schedules are identified by Group (A, B, C, D, E & F) while long-track schedules are simply identified as “C” ice times (Club ice times):

Skinsuits have arrived:
Please contact Madeline at vc.communications@calgaryspeedskating.ca to make arrangements for pick-up. If you have not yet paid, please e-transfer the amount to info@calgaryspeedskating.ca. Madeline will confirm the amount to be paid depending on the type of skinsuit (Kevlar is $420). If you did not order a skinsuit, some extras have been ordered and are available for sale.
14-15 yrs and 16-18 yrs Short Track Junior Canadian Open on Nov. 12-13 at Oval
Congratulations to the skaters who qualified to represent Alberta at those Championships: Zimu Wang, Julianne Lazzari, Lucy Anderson, Maggie Breedlove, Sophia Cross, Sophia Major, Lewis Spence, Marek Chomin, Erik Angelozzi and now with the Oval program: Prabhnoor Grewal, Elise Prpich and coach Mikka Eaves.
There was some great racing and personal bests. Quebec had an exceptionally strong team and certainly dominated, but everyone learned a ton.
