Skate for All – Try Speed Skating
Come try speed skating, one of Canada’s most successful sports at the Olympics!

We look forward to seeing you on the ice! The registration link will be available on IceReg in the near future!
All ages 6+ are welcome, including families and adults.
The free one-hour on-ice session includes coaching and speed skate rental at the Olympic Oval – University of Calgary (288 Collegiate Blvd NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1N4).
This program is free and includes skate rental, one hour of ice, and certified instructors.
TRY SPEED SKATING SCHEDULE
1:15 PM: participants arrive, get fitted for skates
1:30 PM: short briefing to parents & skaters
1:45 PM: on ice
2:45 PM: exit ice, short debrief with parents, return skates
What Should I Bring/Wear?
Certified winter sport helmet (hockey, ski/snowboard, etc.)
Summer sport helmets are NOT allowed
Leather gloves
Long sleeve shirt
Long pants
Highly recommended are:
Knee pads (soft, volleyball)
Shin pads (hard, soccer)
Neck guard with bib (hockey)
