2023 CSSA Spring/Summer Program Registration

CSSA is now accepting registration for the 2023 spring/summer program!

We remain committed to providing flexible programs to meet your needs. There are different programming options for you to choose from. In summary, they include:

– Full season registration (Teens: May 15 – August 25; Youth June 1 – August 25)

– Monthly registration (May, June, July, and August)

– Part-time Teen B: minimum of 3 sessions weekly.  Please contact us for a discount code to be used at registration check out.

Here is the breakdown of our summer pricing:

Frequently Asked Questions:

– The “Youth” programs are intended for registrants that are 11 years old and under;

– The “Teen” programs are intended for registrants that are 12 years old and over;

– The difference between Teen A and Teen B is that Teen A has the Saturday AM session. The Teen A Group also requires a road bike for Saturday sessions. However, Teen A and Teen B will practice together;

Dryland (aerobic training and technical drills) is run at the École Terre des Jeunes school field (3720 – 42nd Street NW);

Strength training, ST (short-track) ice & LT (long-track) ice is at the Olympic Oval;

Speed skates will be available for rent/pick-up before the ice sessions begin in July. Please contact Greg at vc.equipment@calgaryspeedskating.ca if you need to rent skates for the summer ice sessions. 

In-Line is at Bowness Park, the in-line skates & the following protective equipment are supplied by Alien In-Line:

  • Wrist Guards
  • Elbow Pads
  • Helmets
  • Knee Pads

– The Glenmore Velodrome is located at 5300 – 19th Street SW, next to Glenmore Pool and Stu Peppard arena. Costs for the velodrome are separate and will be paid through Calgary Bicycle Track League. Track bikes are provided by CBTL. 

– The summer program is highly recommended for skaters who are aspiring to attend the 2024 Youth Championships (11 – 13 years), the 2024 Alberta Winter Games (age groups TBD), or achieve time standards in order to participate in Junior Open and other events.

Velodrome Pricing and Registration:

– Price is $150; Velodrome Base Youth Membership ($100 for the season *must have*) plus additional $50 for the 9 sessions of CSSA coach programming/instruction.

– The velodrome base youth membership allows riders to train/race all season long.  

– The CSSA velodrome sessions are for CSSA members only.
